Huerta sustentable

Gracias chicos y chicas de la escuela Rise park, hemos disfrutado de la danza como nunca, esperamos poder compartir con ustedes una igual.  Pero, por ahora les agradecemos su talento y les hemos elaborado algo así:

Riseparker Carnival y ECO BAILE!

Our Rise Park Carnival saw every year group choose a theme for what makes them a 'RiseParker' - Year 6 had chickens, Year 5 Inspire to be Fit, Year 4 Commando Joe, Year 3 Being ECO friendly, Year 2 Butterflies and Maths Year 1 Healthy Living Reception Outdoor Play and Nursery Play! What a fantastic range of themes we had. We then finished our carnival parade with the whole school doing the ECO IDEAS BAILE!! We can't wait to see the Vallejistas doing the dance too!

Rise Park projects are on their way!

Yesterday the Spanish captains made a trip to the Post Office to send to Manuel Mejia Vallejo.... look out for them arriving Vallejistas!!

Homework Project Competition - Choosing the winners!

At Rise Park we have a different homework project set every half term. This summer, the children from Nursery to Year 6 were set the challenge of creating a project about themselves or where they live to share with Manuel Mejía Vallejo and their neighbouring school Centro Educativo Rural La Morena Sede El Atravesado. Well, our Spanish ambassadors (and with a little help from our site manager Señor Brady), have been choosing the winners from each year group (winners to be revealed!!) to post to Colombia next week. We will also be posting our QR code posters Señorita Simon worked on with a group of KS2 children about why we grow our own fruit and vegetables! We’ll update you on our travels to the post office with our exciting package!

Our afterschool Bravo Club have been working incredibly hard with Señorita Simon and Señorita Watts to choreograph and perform our very own international ‘ECO BAILE’. Rise Park will be learning the dance and performing as a whole school during our carnival week! The video is also for the Vallejistas over at Manuel Mejia Vallejo to learn and perform. The dance is a celebration to link back to the Eco Week work we carried out in October 2014 with Walter and Astrid, as well as to celebrate and raise the awareness of both schools’ ECO-IDEAS projects over the year including rearing and looking after our chickens, developing raised beds to grow our own food and a range of recycling projects. Can you join the ECO-IDEAS team and do the ECO-DANCE?
